About The Artist

Hello, I am Meagan D'Stasio, also known as The Mean Princess. If you have been following my journey, thanks for sticking around. However, if you are new here, welcome, and let's dig in!

It all began in 2009 when I started making and selling hair bows that were inspired by my own daughter's short hair. A few years later, I started sewing her handmade clothing. I quickly received requests not only for hairbows but also for the clothing. As a result, I began selling replicas of her outfits, which quickly turned into a full-time business. I started designing custom outfits for little girls worldwide. It also gave me the ability to organized several fundraising initiatives and have been fortunate to be able to use my skills to help those in need.

In 2012, there was a high demand for my clothing, so I began selling my designs to home sewists in PDF format. This led to a small feature in the Home Grown section of South Jersey Magazine, which helped my business to thrive. It couldn’t have worked out better as I had a health crisis and it gave me the ability to make my health my priority.

It also gave me the time to work with many incredible people connected to charities all over the world like Dress a girl. I worked with Heather's Tree, SBB Heartbuilders, Hopeful Threads, Create H.O.P.E. Designs, Social Justice Sewing Academy, and several more.  In the past, I have organized several fundraising initiatives and have been fortunate to be able to use my skills to help those in need.

Fast forward, to the year 2020, the world changed drastically and our priorities shifted. I started taking classes and felt the urge to work again but in a new creative way. Out with the old, in with the new. Welcome to my new space, Meagan D'Stasio. I hope you will enjoy this part of the journey as much as I have. My goal is to make art accessible to more people by creating affordable pieces at various price points. Handmade artisan items can often be outside of the budget for the average working person, and I want to change that. I've met people in the past who couldn't afford my handmade dresses, and I made sure they had them anyway. You will find tiny pieces of artwork available for an inexpensive price, but without sacrificing the artistry. I aim to bring joy and inclusivity to the table and share it with you. I'm also excited to introduce you to other artists and makers. I want to collaborate with other creatives to help our creative minds expand and reach new customers. There are far more buyers than there are working artists.

Once again, thanks for being here.
