When Not Making
When I am not making, I am a dog mama and foster dog mama. They aren't allowed into my sewing space but their doggie glitter seems to make it into all forms of my work. I will find doggie glitter in paintings or in my pre-washed and dried linens or scarves batches. I do my best to keep this from happening but it's part of the magic of saving lives. I will include pictures of some of the babies we have or have helped. Thanks to those of you who have also followed this part of my life and have made donations to help with medical or food for the doggos.
This is Buddy. He came to us covered in scars, skin issues, bone thin, with an amputated penis and heartworm positive. We got him healthy and he's now living his best life in Philly.
This is Olive. She was dropped off to be euthanized. She had a prolapsed anus and vulva. She was pulled by the rescue, went in for surgery and we picked her up 48 hrs later. After 12 wks we felt we might be the best fit for Olive as we could see she was in need of futher, life long care, it was care we were familar with. To be honest, she was at high risk of return to the shelter or rescue if adopted out. So we made this nugget part of the fam.
Below is art by my daugther, Art by Ryleigh She created that image for the dog page I run for the rescue and our own pups. Olive Us, you're welcome to check it out too!
